Report Shows Ninth Grade Counts Keeping Kids on Track to Graduate
This fall, Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA) released a report developed for All Hands Raised to evaluate student-level impacts correlated with participation in Ninth Grade Counts. The analysis shows that Academic Priority students who participate in Ninth Grade Counts, when compared to Academic Priority non-participants:
- Earn significantly more total credits in ninth grade (6.0 vs. 5.1 credits);
- Meet the crucial “on-track to graduate” threshold of 6 credits in ninth grade at a 12.2 percentage point higher rate; and
- Have significantly better school attendance (2.4% higher)
