Beth Cavanaugh, EdD
Director of Data
Beth joined AHR in 2022 and currently serves as the Director of Data. She began her career in education as a middle school drama teacher over 20 years ago and has since developed her passion for educational equity in various roles: teacher, parent, volunteer, researcher, and advocate. Beth is excited to be a part of the collective impact movement at All Hands Raised, working in partnership to move systems changes and improve outcomes for people on a larger scale than any one organization can achieve alone.
Beth holds a Masters in Teaching in secondary education from Seattle University and an Education Doctorate in organizational leadership from the University of Portland, and her research focused on the role of systems and policy in K-12 educational equity has been presented at several education conferences. Curiosity and understanding drives Beth’s passion for data and research, believing that the stories and context underlying every data point are vital for developing strategies that meet community needs and move us forward together.
Beth has two kids who are Portland Public School students; she resides with them, her husband, and their dog Penny in SE Portland. They love exploring together, whether traveling to new destinations or enjoying treasures in their neighborhood.
